Come join me for Zoominescence, a Festival of Light (at the Edmonton Valley Zoo) by Valley Zoo Development Society - see below for more information from their website.

Edmonton, the most northern city in North America with a population of over one million, is a world-renowned winter metropolis. Each December, Zoominescence, hosted by the Valley Zoo Development Society, stages a spectacular exhibition of artistic light installations within the unique setting of the Edmonton Valley Zoo. Our vision is to celebrate light, artistry, imagination and the strong spirit of our community in the winter. Join us for an evening of light, animals, skating, hot chocolate and fun for the whole family!

We’re ready to light up the night and show you the Edmonton Valley Zoo’s sparkle as we bring back one of Edmonton’s favourite holiday festivals!

To find me at the zoo, I will be waiting at the entrance at 7:30pm wearing / carrying my royal blue EOC baseball cap. At 7:40pm we will head on in to explore the zoo. If you are running late, please bring my phone # with so you can contact me and we'll try to find each other.

**RE: COVID-19 PROTOCOLS:
All activities are being offered in full compliance with current provincial and federal COVID standards. We will practice being socially distanced (6 feet / 2 meters apart) while participating on this event and step off the trail / path briefly to let others pass safely.

Additional requirements:
1. Create social space.
• Avoid skin-to-skin contact just share a friendly wave and 'hello'.
• Blow your nose, cough, sneeze, or clear your airway at least 2m away from others.
• Wear a mask in public places to help limit the risk of spread to others if you will be within 2m apart.
**The government has indicated that masks help. Therefore, we are leaving it to the discretion of participants to choose whether you'd like to wear masks during the event.

2. Are you feeling unwell?
If you have a cough or flu-like symptoms, stay home and consider getting yourself tested by calling 8-1-1 - see the AHS link above.

3. Other notes:
Please do not attend if you have recently travelled to any location that has an active COVID-19 travel advisory OR you know or suspect you have been in close contact with someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19.
