**Please note:
- This will be a moderately paced walk of ~5km/hr.
- This event will be weather dependent, please check the EOC calendar and your email for any updates.

About this walk: ~13km, ~3-3.5 hours
There are almost 85km of hiking trails at Cooking Lake/Blackfoot Provincial Recreation Area, so let's check out some of the trails accessed from the Waskahegan Staging Area trailhead!

The terrain is mostly flat with some rolling hills. We will stop at the half way point (Meadow Shelter) for some lunch. Here is a link for your info: Cooking Lake/Blackfoot guide.

How to Get There:
Event Directions: Waskahegan Staging Area is located 24 km east of Sherwood Park, south of Hwy. #16 (directly south of Elk Island Nat'l Pk on RR#210).
From Sherwood Park, the highway turns into Wye Road (a.k.a. Hwy. #630). Turn north (left) onto Range Road #210.
