Itinerary:
We will spend Sunday exploring Bunchberry Meadows Conservation Area by snowshoe. This link shows a map of the trail network at Bunchberry Meadows. We will snowshoe for at least 7-8 km.

Located approximately 30 kilometres outside of downtown Edmonton, Bunchberry Meadows is a 640- acre (260-hectare) conservation site made up of old-growth forests, open meadows and wetlands. Owned in partnership with the Edmonton and Area Land Trust, Bunchberry Meadows is open to the public year-round for foot access.

Please note:

  • Parking and washroom (outhouse) facilities are available at Bunchberry Meadows
  • The rules of access for Bunchberry Meadows stipulate that dogs are not permitted.

    Event Directions: From Edmonton:
  • Head west on Whitemud Drive.
  • Turn south onto 215 St/Winterburn Road (6.5 km).
  • Turn west onto Highway 627/Maskekosihk Trail (1.6 km).
  • Turn south onto Range Road 261/Fleming Drive (5.6 km).
  • The entrance to Bunchberry Meadows will be on your right.

    Carpool Cost: The event coordinator(s) will help you to arrange a centralized carpool if you require it, but it's not guaranteed. Please DO NOT pay your driver en route. Passengers will pay the coordinator, and he/she will distribute the money to the carpool drivers. SO PLEASE BRING CASH!!! Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $11.60 (calculated at total Km * $0.29, effective Saturday, April 20, 2024). This is based on $0.09/Km for maintenance, plus current gas price divided by 9. This cost will be multiplied by the number of carpooled cars, and divided by the number of carpool participants.
