Itinerary:
We will meet in the parking lot by the Snow Valley Ski Centre at 8:45 AM for a 9:00 AM start. This walk will be at a brisk/fast pace.I will be standing near the ski centre. From Snow Valley, we will walk north through Whitemud Park as far as Fox Drive, then continue up a steady climb to the Grandview Heights area. We can enjoy the view from the top of the stairs overlooking the Quenell Bridge and then continue our hike north across the Quesnell Bridge. We will leave the bridge into Sir Wilfrid Laurier Park where we will walk along the river through Emily Murphy Park. Once we get to Hawrelak Park we can take a break to use the facilities and have a bite to eat. We will take the paths on the south side of the river past the Whitemud Equestrian Park towards Fort Edmonton. We will take the River Loop trail around Fort Edmonton to the footbridge leading toward the Wolf Willow Stairs. From the top of the stairs we will head into Rio Park until we get back into the Wolf Willow community. We will then take the paths back to the footbridge before returning to Snow Valley through Riverbend on 53rd Ave.

Difficulty: the walk will be at a "higher brisk" pace (approx 4.5 km/h) for approx. 25 KM. There will be long gradual climb to the Grandview Heights area as well as going up the Wolf Willow stairs.

Dogs are very welcome on this hike - if you are bringing your dog(s) please note this when you sign up for the event. Please keep your dogs on leash at all times on this hike as the paths will be busy with other people hiking and biking.
