IMPORTANT INFO: the difficulty rating has been changed to "Easy to Moderate" , as the coordinator (Ian M) is recovering from a foot injury. He WILL be able to run the hike, but it will NOT be at a brisk pace.
If you are looking for a brisk hike, the walking pace may be a little on the "relaxed" side for you - please bear this in mind!

We will meet in the parking lot at Emily Murphy Park (NW corner nearest the Groat Road bridge) at 6:15pm for registration, leaving at 6:25.

We will be doing a short hike this evening - basically head west to Hawlerak Park, have a quick break by the Buena Vista Footbridge, and then turn back and return to the meeting place.
There are a couple of parallel trails in this area, so we will try to switch it around for some variety!
Depending upon how quickly we finish, we could do a short section to the east of Emily Murphy Park as well.

To recognize me at the meeting place, I will be driving a grey Hyundai wagon and wearing or carrying a yellow EOC baseball cap.
Dogs are very welcome on this event - please be aware of City of Edmonton bylaws though.

Emily Murphy Park is at Groat Road and Emily Murphy Park Road NW.

To get to Emily Murphy Park from Gateway Blvd/Calgary Trail: head west on 82nd Ave/ Whyte Ave, then turn right on 110 St, then turn left on Saskatchewan Drive.
Keep to the right and take Emily Murphy Park Rd., turn right into Emily Murphy Park.

If you are coming from the north on Groat Road: take the exit toward Parks Area, turn left then right onto Emily Murphy Park Rd, destination will be on the left.

Once in the park turn left at the T intersection and meet in parking lot near the Groat Road Bridge.
