Each Tuesday in August, Movies on the Square - a free outdoor movie series organized by the City of Edmonton - will be held. The second film in this series, scheduled for August 11th, is Cinderella. When her father unexpectedly passes away, young Ella finds herself at the mercy of her cruel stepmother and her daughters. Never one to give up hope, Ella's fortunes begin to change after meeting a dashing stranger.

Pre-movie entertainment is scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM. The time that the movie showing will begin is not stated by the event organizers, although it is generally stated that they will begin showing the movie at dusk.

Please note that the event may be cancelled in the event of severe weather conditions.

We will meet just outside the Second Cup coffee shop, which is at the NW corner of the Edmonton Public Library’s downtown branch (100 Street & 102 Avenue), at 7:00 PM. This is just across the street from Churchill Square.

If you expect to arrive after 7:00 PM (I am uncertain when the movie will begin, although assume it may be closer to 9:00 PM), please give me a call so I can direct you to where you can find the group.

Event Directions:

1. Parking is available in various parkades in the downtown area. Recommended are the Library Parkade, City Hall Parkade and the Edmonton Centre Parkade.
2. The LRT (subway) stops right at Churchill Square. Get off at the stop marked “Churchill Station”.
3. If taking a bus, consult the ETS Trip Planner.
4. Meet just outside Second Cup coffee shop, which is at the NW corner of the Edmonton Public Library’s downtown branch (100 Street & 102 Avenue), at 7:00 PM. This is just across the street from Churchill Square.
