Itinerary: | |||||||
Snowshoe fun everyone. Beginners ARE ENCOURAGED to
come out and try this easy and relaxing sport. If you can walk,
you can snowshoe. . It's a great opportunity to just check out
the sport before you tackle something harder, or out-of-town.
IMPORTANT NOTE: In the event that there is not enough snow, we will proceed anyway with a hike in the area. ***If you don't own snowshoes, I (Lynn) have been able to obtain a dozen pairs, so folks can try out the sport without having to rent them. I will make them available on a first come first serve basis. Please add your request in the notes section. Or you can also rent a pair at either MEC or Totem Outfitters. There are trails winding through the entire park on the Southside of the North Saskatchewan River. Some trails in the park are wide and well used. Others are more narrow and uneven. Parts of the Snowshoe may require some elevation changes. It will allow us to scene some scenic views of the river valley. To find me, I'll be driving a Blue Kia Sportage and wearing my yellow EOC baseball cap. I will be park at the back end near the bright red portapotty, so is should be easy to spot me.
| |||||||
How to Get There: | |||||||
Event Directions: | The park is located at the very west end of Rabbit Hill road, off
Terwillegar Drive.
For those who are coming from Whitemud Drive, take the Terwillegar exit, and turn right at Rabbit Hill Road. The road will go down the hill into the Terwillegar Park parking lot, which is where we will meet.
Notes: | |||||||
Consider renting snowshoes.
This is an excellent way to experience the sport without a large
commitment money or time wise.
If you are renting snowshoes you may wish to reserve these
rentals earlier than later as these rentals are especially
popular on weekends. - We encourage all members to follow our Etiquette Guidelines at all times while participating in EOC events. - Please scroll through and read the entire online waiver when you sign up. - Details of this event are subject to undergo a change at any point in time, with or without warning.
