Itinerary: | |||||||
Come out for a cross-country ski at the Cooking Lake -
Blackfoot Provincial Recreation Area. We will ski at an easy pace,
but some experience on skis is required. The trails are double
tracked for classic skiing. The
trails go out in series of interconnected loops from
Islet Lake. All junctions are signed with trail maps. The
trails undulate through aspen forest past a series of lakes.
There are plenty of ups & downs but no major steep hills. The
trails are easy with some intermediate sections. We will ski
about 10 km. Intermediates or strong beginners only please.
If you don't have skis, you can rent ski packages at Mountain Equipment Co-op or Totem Outfitters. | |||||||
