Sometimes adults need a chance to feel like a kid again, and what better place to do so than to explore and play at a science museum!

On the evening of December 12, the Telus World of Science is only open to adults. Throughout the evening, we'll be able to explore all of the general exhibits in the museum, including Space Place, Mystery Avenue, The Body Fantastic, Discoveryland, and the Syncrude Environment Gallery. Full Dome Shows will be playing in the Margaret Zeidler Star Theatre (these shows are included in the price of general admission). The museum will also show a number of science demonstrations, and there will be a licensed cash bar. A special exhibit, Harry Potter: The Exhibition, can also be toured during the evening, for an extra cost.

Tickets for the evening can be purchased directly from the Telus World of Science box office, by calling 780-451-3344, or online. You can either purchase a general admission ticket, or a ticket that includes general admission as well as admission to the special Harry Potter: The Exhibition which will be shown at the museum from November 23rd to March 9th, 2014. General Admission tickets cost $16.95+GST, while tickets for the Harry Potter Exhibition plus General Admission cost $26.50+GST. Discounts are available for seniors, students and members of the museum. The museum also charges a $3.00 web convenience fee for online ticket purchases. Parking at the museum is free.

For the Harry Potter Exhibit: when you sign up, please let me know (you can indicate in the Notes section as you sign up) if you plan to purchase tickets for the exhibit. I am undecided as to whether I will visit the Harry Potter exhibit myself, but would like to have some idea how many people are thinking of seeing it. If you purchase tickets for this exhibit, you will have to select a specific time; I am going to suggest that EOCers try to sign up for the 7:30 showing, so that everyone in the group touring this exhibit can tour it together.

The Telus World of Science is located within Coronation Park at 11211 142 Street NW, near Westmount Shopping Centre. From Groat Road, follow 111 Avenue west to 142 Street. The museum is located at the northeast corner of the intersection between 111 Avenue and 142 Street, and the parking lot for the museum is accessed from 142 Street

Cost Includes:

General admission to the exhibit, if purchased online, costs $16.95+GST. A $3.00 web convenience fee is added to the cost if tickets are purchased online, resulting in a total cost of $20.95 including GST.

Optional tickets to see Harry Potter: The Exhibition cost $26.50 + GST (the total cost of a ticket is $30.98, including the web convenience fee, if purchased online). Please note that tickets for Harry Potter: The Exhibition also include general admission to the museum.

Discounts to the ticket prices are available for seniors, students (with ID) or members of the museum. Please refer to the museum website for details.
