Itinerary:

This hike has already been postponed twice due to bad weather / driving conditions, but I am hopeful this weekend will be better!

Meet at the parking lot by Snow Valley ski club (see directions below) at 11:15AM, for a 11:25AM departure.

I will be parked as close as possible to the ski centre building at Snow Valley.
Look for me wearing a yellow EOC cap and standing by a grey Hyundai wagon so you can recognise me.

This will be a brisk hike, and you must be able to keep up with the group. Good footwear and ice grips / traction devices are essential.
There is a considerable set of stairs (approx 200 of them) and another long steady climb to "enjoy"! Don't say I'm not good to you....

We will walk north through Whitemud Ravine/Park as far as Fox Drive. However, before returning back to Snow Valley, I have some fun lined up for you!
We will walk up the long set of stairs and then work our way back down the nice forested trail between Grandview Heights and Fox Drive.
At this stage, we will turn around, walk back up the nice forested trail (a steady climb), reward ourselves with the great view at the top of the long set of stairs, then walk down the stairs and finally rejoin the trail back to Snow Valley.

Please note the following:
1/ Dogs are welcome on this hike, please remember to include them when you are signing up.
2/ Dog owners must comply with all City of Edmonton bylaws.
3/ Please bring ice grips / traction devices, as the trail will be slippery in parts.

Snow Valley is accessed from Whitemud Drive. Leave at the exit for 119 Street (south of Whitemud Drive) and turn into Rainbow Valley Road.
Follow this road all the way down, crossing underneath Whitemud Drive, and you will reach Snow Valley ski center.
