Itinerary:
TED is a nonprofit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. It started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design.

Join us for an evening of TED. We will watch two videos from their web site and discuss the videos. The videos are approximately 20 minutes long. We'll start the first one at 7:00 and the second one at 8:00, leaving up to 40 minutes for discussion after each one.

Our videos for tonight will be:
  1. Simon Sinek: How great leaders inspire action: Simon Sinek has a simple but powerful model for inspirational leadership all starting with a golden circle and the question "Why?" His examples include Apple, Martin Luther King, and the Wright brothers.
  2. David Logan: Tribal leadership: David Logan talks about the five kinds of tribes that humans naturally form -- in schools, workplaces, even the driver's license bureau. By understanding our shared tribal tendencies, we can help lead each other to become better individuals.

Please arrive by 6:45 as we will be locking the school doors at that time. Use the buzzer to get in between 6:45 and 7:00. After 7:00, we won't be able to let you in so as to not disrupt the videos and discussion.

Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.
- Your own beverage (NO ALCOHOL allowed in the school)
- A snack to share (take your leftovers with you when you leave)
- A pillow or cushion for comfortable seating - most of the chairs are the usual institutional school chairs. You may decide you want to sit on the floor with a cushion instead.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:9011-182 St.
Parking in the lot just North of the building. Come through the front doors on 182 st. Go down the hallway and take the first right and follow to all the way to the end to the library. We'll be either in the library or in Rm 7 next to the library. If the front door is locked there is a buzzer on the wall on the right hand side.
