PLEASE REMEMBER THE CLOCKS GO FORWARD ON SATURDAY NIGHT / SUNDAY MORNING - DON'T BE LATE FOR THE EVENT! ALSO GOOD FOOTWEAR IS ESSENTIAL AND ICE GRIPS / TRACTION DEVICES ARE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Meet at Hawrelak Park picnic shelter no.2 for this hike - this is the picnic shelter at the SW corner of Hawlerak Park, nearest the Buena Vista footbridge. We will meet at 10:00am for a 10:15am departure. We will start by following the path on the east side of the river south towards Whitemud Park, passing the Whitemud Equine Centre (don't forget to say hello to the horses).
Once we reach the Whitemud Drive / Quesnell Bridge area, we can do some exploring. Once we've done our exploring, we'll return to Hawlerak Park by the same route.
Although this hike is generally a "moderate" one, there are a couple of steeper sections along the way. Dogs are also welcome on this hike - dog owners, please remember to add your dog(s) onto the registration. To recognise me at the meeting point, I will either be wearing a yellow EOC cap, or you can check out my photo on the volunteer page if you are desperate to punish yourself..... | |||||||
