Itinerary:

Join the EOC and a City of Edmonton Instructor to learn the basic techniques of classical cross country skiing including diagonal striding, stopping, turning, falling safely as well as hill techniques. Get the scoop on clothing and equipment selection, waxing, and trail etiquette.

The first 30 minutes of this session will be spent inside preparing the skis. Once set up, we will head out to the training grid to practice some technique then finish up on the Walterdale and Servold’s loops. (See map)

Equipment is provided, however if you have your own you are welcome to bring it along.

Required Items to Bring:
- Active wear appropriate to the weather
- Water bottle

Kinsmen Park is located at 9100 Walterdale Road. Meet at the Gear Hut on the northwest side of the Pitch and Putt field. Please see map for directions.

Notes:

- Registration is NOT COMPLETE until you've signed up and paid by the registration cut off date. The money must be in the EOC's possession by that date. No exceptions.
- When a minimum group size appears, this is to let you know that the event will be cancelled with refunds to those who have already paid, if the minimum number of registered participants is not met. For any events where EOC needs a minimum number of participants, there will be absolutely no refunds of money if you cancel.
- We encourage all members to follow our Etiquette Guidelines at all times while participating in EOC events.
