Itinerary: | |||||||
Gibbons Echo Glen Park is rich in history. We will hike along the Sturgeon River Valley and part of the Athabasca Landing Trail (and official section of the current Trans Canada Trail). The trail follows old tracks of freight wagons that brought goods from Fort Edmonton to Athabasca Landing in the late 1800's. We will also hike the forested trails on the old Gibbons homestead. The Gibbons' family homestead was the first stop on the Athabasca Landing Trail, just before the turn of the century. See the Trans Canada Trail website | |||||||

Passengers will pay the coordinator, and he/she will distribute the money to the carpool drivers. SO PLEASE BRING CASH!!! Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $17.40 (calculated at total Km * $0.29, effective Thursday, January 30, 2025).
