This event is for infants/toddlers/preschoolers/children and their caregivers only (grandparents are welcome). The pace will be a preschooler/toddler pace. It will be the responsibility of the caregiver to ensure we stick together as a group. This hike is babywear and stroller friendly. No dogs allowed.

Please note: for adults only please sign up for other adult only events.

We will meet at 945am, settle into an introduction and head out on a walk at 10am.

Wagner Natural Area, is a special piece of Boreal forest located between Edmonton and Spruce Grove. Affectionately called the Wagner Bog, it is famous for its many species of orchids and marl ponds.

The 2 km loop would first start at a hayfield where we can look out for butterflies and dragonflies, weather permitting. Then we will follow the trail in the forest, checking out the changes in vegetation as we go along the way. We will stop to look for frogs along the boardwalks over the marl ponds. It is likely that a couple species of orchids will be blooming during the visit.

Then we'll finish up our walk through the woods and go in the picnic shelter for lunch. There is a porta-potty on site.

The walk is a easy, short stroll with no inclines or slopes. Stroller and babywear friendly. Expect mosquitoes to be plentiful and trails may be wet, so bring appropriate footwear.
