Itinerary:
We will meet at 6:50 PM to check in, and leave at 6:55 PM sharp. From the first parking lot (before the Whitemud Drive bridge) we will proceed South towards 29 Ave (Ogilvie Ridge). The route will be a circuit that follows along the main gravel path and various single track trails, for a total round trip of about 8 km and finished around 8:30 PM. **Please be aware the trail could be wet, or icy in some sections.

Here's a write up from one of the last events "We hiked South up the Whitemud Nature Reserve forest and creek bridges to Olgilvie Ridge. We then continued East along the cleared trails to Westbrooke Estates. We found the connector to the Whitemud Nature Reserve (below the mansion that looks like a castle), and hiked back through the forest trails to the upper parking lot on Rainbow Valley Road. The full orange moon finally made its appearance late in the evening, and from our lookout points on the scenic nature trail, we could see most star constellations".

Look for Mark with a blue EOC baseball cap hanging from antenna of car.

Difficulty: the walk will be at a "moderate-brisk" pace (approx 5km/h)
This nature hike will be about 8 km, with some icy sections and single track trails.

Dogs are welcome on this hike, however they must be leashed because there is no off-leash area where we are going. If you are bringing your dog(s) please note this when you sign up for the event.
