We will meet up at 8:4o am the carpool location and leave by 8:45am sharp. Drive is approx.45 minutes For those meeting at the event (bypassing the carpool), meet you at the Tawayik Lake trailhead for 9:30AM. The Tawayik Lake Trail is on the north side of Highway #16. Enter left at the Elk Island Sign and follow the road until you see the Tawayik Lake sign. We will Snowshoe the 16.5 km that has Aspen forest and meadows;great for viewing moose, elk and bison if we are lucky. Not so much in the winter We will break for lunch around 12:30pm. The trail is moderate. Participants should be prepared and or expect any weather possibilities for this day. Dress in layers. NNO cotton as once damp will be cold. Carpool Cost: | The event coordinator(s) will help you to arrange a centralized carpool if you require it, but it's not guaranteed. Please DO NOT pay your driver en route. Passengers will pay the coordinator, and he/she will distribute the money to the carpool drivers. SO PLEASE BRING CASH!!! Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $23.20 (calculated at total Km * $0.29, effective Thursday, November 21, 2024). This is based on $0.09/Km for maintenance, plus current gas price divided by 9. This cost will be multiplied by the number of carpooled cars, and divided by the number of carpool participants. | ||||||
