Itinerary: | |||||||
So we leave Edmonton at 8:00 am to go to Canmore. We spend the rest of the day hiking/snowshoeing depending on snow conditions. We have supper at the Canmore Hostel, or we eat at a restaurant. On Sunday again we eat out or eat in the hostel then spend the day at a Alberta Parks free avalanche training session. Then we come back to Edmonton. I reserved a bed ($30.00) at the Canmore HI Hostel I recommend you do the same as it's very nice. You will need a bag lunch and beverages for the course as it is 4 to 5 hours long on Sunday. Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $232.00 (calculated at total Km * $0.29, effective Thursday, November 21, 2024). Notes:
This trip is mostly about the Alberta Parks free avalanche training but I figure that if I'm going to go all the way to Canmore I might as well do some stuff outside & since I'm going to Canmore I might as well look for like minded people to travel with & do outdoor stuff. We could agree to eat Saturday night and Sunday breakfast at the hostel as long as we keep it simple & healthy. I have not chosen a hiking trail yet & will look into it soon. It will not be very difficult & I picture it being 3 to 5 hours long. - We encourage all members to follow our Etiquette Guidelines at all times while participating in EOC events. - Please scroll through and read the entire online waiver when you sign up. - Details of this event are subject to undergo a change at any point in time, with or without warning.
