Join me for an moderately paced early evening hike.
Afterwards, those interested can join me at O'Byrne's (on
Whyte Avenue), for drinks, food and conversation (and to take
in the live Irish music jam session that is held every week).
We will follow along the trails within the river valley to Emily Murphy Park. After crossing the river at Groat Road, we will work our way back on the north side to the Walterdale Bridge. In total, the hike will be approximately 7.5 km, and will take us approximately 2 hours to complete. The sun will be setting before we complete the hike, so you may wish to bring a flashlight along. We will be meeting near the Safeway at 109 Street/82 Avenue (on the grass at the southeast corner of the parking lot). While you can potentially park within the parking lot for the grocery store, I would recommend finding street parking in the area (there is lots of parking available north and south of Whyte Avenue, particularly to the east of 109 Street. Parking meters are also free on weeknights after 6 PM.) We will be meeting at 6:30 PM and leaving no later than 6:40 PM. | |||||||
