Itinerary:

We will meet in the NE corner of the Kinsmen parking lot. We will take the snow covered paved path under the walterdale bridge heading east and up a small hill towards Queen Elizabeth Park then after 1 or 2kms, gradually walk down the snow covered paved path towards the Sask River. Exact distance depends on the group but expect at least 1 hour round trip, or at least 4km. Should the group feel like continuing, we will continue along the same path next to the river towards and in the direction of the James Macdonald Bridge. We will return via the same way.

Expect snow on the pathway albeit packed and possibly slippery in some sections. I have a pair of Yak Trax which are wonderful on these winter city trails. Yak Trax can be found at Totem sports on 99th St or at Mountain Equipment Co-Op.

Given the time of year and possibility of colder temperatures, the group will maintain a fairly brisk pace. Please dress accordingly. Layers are good, long underwear, toque, gloves, warm socks etc. Water or thermos beverage and snacks are fine. It will be dark out. If you need to, please bring a head lamp. Should the group be so inclined, we may go to a coffee shop in the Whyte Ave area for hot chocolate.
