Itinerary:

There are almost 85km of hiking trails at Cooking Lake/Blackfoot Provincial Recreation Area, so lets check out some of the trails accessed from the Islet Lake trailhead!
Many people believe these to be the most scenic trails in this area, and they are certainly very pretty.

If you are carpooling, we will meet close to the SE corner of the Bonnie Doon Mall parking lot (by 83 St/82 ave) at 10:00AM for a 10:15 departure.
Look for me standing by a grey Hyundai wagon and wearing a yellow EOC cap so you can recognise me.

If you are not taking part in the carpool, we should be at the Islet Lake trailhead around 11:15AM.
We will walk for around 2.5-3.5 hours and I am thinking of the likes of the Highline, Lost lake and Push Lake trails.
We will have short breaks along the way and a slightly longer break at the Lost Lake shelter. Bring snacks/lunch and plenty of water!

Passengers will pay the coordinator, and he/she will distribute the money to the carpool drivers. SO PLEASE BRING CASH!!! Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $23.20 (calculated at total Km * $0.29, effective Tuesday, December 3, 2024). This is based on $0.09/Km for maintenance, plus current gas price divided by 9. This cost will be multiplied by the number of carpooled cars, and divided by the number of carpool participants.
