We'll meet at the parking lot to the west of the intersection of Groat Rd and River Valley Rd. at 2:00 PM for a 2:15 sharp departure.

I'll bring my maps (and/or Brent's brain) and we'll choose our route together. We will try to stick to paths that are ice- and snow-free, but no guarantees.

We will ride out for 30-45 minutes, and then return. This will be a first ride of the season for lots of folks, so the mission for the day is to get out, have a good time, get used to the bike again, and not hurt our bums too much.

Required Items to Bring:
Helmet. No helmet no ride no exceptions.
A bike. For an early season ride, it is recommended to use a mountain bike or a hybrid. Something with fatter tires... even studs if you have them.

Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.
Water, basic bike repair kit, appropriate clothing and footwear.

How to Get There:

Event Directions:

From Westmount - south on Groat Rd, take the right lane for River Valley Rd, turn right into the parking lot before you go under the Groat bridge.

From U of A - north on Groat, cross the bridge, exit right, right again, under the bridge then left into the parking lot.

From River Valley Rd - west under Groat bridge then left into the parking lot.

Look for Rhonda with the bicycle decorated with lovely colored pipe cleaners on the spokes of her bicycle.
