Let's try this again! Hopefully the spring temperatures are here to stay and I won't have to cancel again because of bitterly cold weather!

Come out & enjoy a moderate paced early evening hike for about 5.5km. Afterwards, please join me for refreshments (or a late meal). The location where we will reconvene afterwards will be determined on the night of the event.

We will meet up in front of the Shaw Conference Centre (Jasper Avenue entrance) at 6:30pm & head out at 6:40pm sharp! As this is an early evening hike, I have chosen to start the event at the Shaw Conference Centre because it is conveniently located near the Central LRT station and can be easily accessed by those who work downtown during the day and wish to join us for this hike. We should be finished the hike by about 7:45-8 pm, and afterwards those who are interested can join me at a downtown pub/restaurant for a bite (location to be determined on the day of the event).

We'll head down the stairs at the conference center, walk through Louise McKinney Park then head west along the north side of the river. After walking under the James MacDonald Bridge into Irene Parlby Park, we'll follow 96th Ave. west, then walk south along Rossdale Rd*. to reach the Walterdale Bridge. After crossing the bridge, we will take a 5 minute break at the Kinsmen Centre. We'll continue east through Queen Elizabeth Park and follow paths on the south side of the river back to the Low Level Bridge, which we will cross to return back to Louise McKinney Park and the Shaw Conference Centre.

*Due to construction activities for the new Walterdale Bridge, we'll have to take a couple of detours, which are outlined on this map.

To find me, I'll have my yellow EOC baseball cap on.
