One Last Crack at Lake Louise One day In & out more room now (10/12/2013)

Itinerary:
So we leave Edmonton at 5 am Saturday morning arrive at Lake Louise at about 9:00 or 9:30 hike the flat part around the lake as a warm up & then up to the tea house at the toe of the glacier hang out eat our bag lunches on the very nice wooden benches ( try to see the Abbott Hut) hike back down the mountain get in the car & come back. There is a planned quick breakfast break on the way there & a supper break on the way back both at restaurants. Drive through for breakfasts. I'd like help driving especially on the way back. We have choice of cars, one is very comfy but more expensive on gas & the other less comfy but better on gas. We will discuss this if you come. I will leave my dog at home if you are allergic.

Required Items to Bring:
hiking boots, change of socks,lunch for the trail, minimum 2 liters of water, enough layered clothing, hat mitts/gloves, an extra layer in case of cold/snow we will be at a good altitude & exposed. Without ALL these items you will not be allowed to get in the car in the morning. It's a safety thing.

Sun glasses, wind breaker/shell, micro spikes would be nice just in case. hiking poles,

How to Get There:

Carpool Cost: The event coordinator(s) will help you to arrange a centralized carpool if you require it, but it's not guaranteed. Please DO NOT pay your driver en route. Passengers will pay the coordinator, and he/she will distribute the money to the carpool drivers. SO PLEASE BRING CASH!!! Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $232.00 (calculated at total Km * $0.29, effective Thursday, November 21, 2024). This is based on $0.09/Km for maintenance, plus current gas price divided by 9. This cost will be multiplied by the number of carpooled cars, and divided by the number of carpool participants.
