We will meet at La Poutine before walking over to the University of Alberta to hear a talk by author Sheryl WuDunn. Sheryl WuDunn's talk starts at 7:30 PM. Sheryl WuDunn's book "Half the Sky" investigates the oppression of women globally. Her stories shock. Only when women in developing countries have equal access to education and economic opportunity will we be using all our human resources. As a journalist reporting on China, Sheryl WuDunn saw the everyday oppression of women around the world. She and Nick Kristof wrote "Half the Sky," chronicling women's stories of horror and, especially, hope. | |||||
