Come and visit the Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition at the Telus World of Science!
Now on until February 20, 2012. Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition - this is the story of the most famous ship in the world, a story that has been told and retold, but never before like this. Real artifacts- recovered from nearly 4 km below the ocean- tell Titanic's fateful tale along with the stories of the souls who journey with her into history. The Exhibition has been designed with a focus on the legendary RMS Titanic's compelling human stories as best told through almost 200 authentic artifacts and extensive room re-creations. Perfume from a maker who was travelling to New York to sell his samples, china etched with the logo of elite White Star Line, even the Ship's whistle -- these and many other authentic objects offer haunting, emotional connections to lives abruptly ended or forever altered. Visitor are quickly drawn back in time to 1912 upon entrance, as each receives a replica boarding pass of an actual passenger aboard Titanic. They then begin their chronological journey through the life of the Titanic, moving through the ship's construction, to life on board, to the ill-fated sinking and amazing artifacts rescue efforts. In the "Memorial Gallery" guests will take their boarding pass to the memorial wall and discover whether their passenger and travelling companions survived or perished. Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition is a timed-ticket exhibition, which simply means that you must enter the exhibition at the time printed on the ticket. Once inside the exhibition hall, you may spend as much time as you like looking at the detailed room recreations, historical photographs and almost 200 artifacts.
We will meet inside the Telus World of Science (close to the ticket desks) at 6:00pm, and aim to head in as soon as possible afterwards. Please don't be late!
Afterwards, we can go for food / refreshments. | |||||||
