Itinerary:

We will meet at the Belvedere LRT Station at 9:00 AM and leave from there at 9:15 AM. Don't be late!

We will plan to arrive at the trailhead for Beaver Pond at about 10:00 PM.

Let's get away from the city for a few hours and enjoy a day out in the bush. The snowshoe walk will be a moderate pace (3-4 km/hr) with occasional stops to enjoy the scenery and wildlife.
We will do both the North Lakeshore (2.5 km), and Beaver Pond Trails (3.5 km). Neither one is particularly hard and both are quite pretty.

As with any shoulder season hike, this one will be weather dependent. Please bring good footwear and dress for the weather. If you don't have them, you will need to rent or buy snowshoes. They are available at outdoor stores like MEC and Totem.

Required Items to Bring:
Good hiking boots, possibly cleats, or even snowshoes, depending on the trail conditions. Weather appropriate clothing; dress in layers
Water
Money for carpool and park admission. Park admission is $7.80 per person, and your share of the carpool will probably come out to around $6.00 or $7.00. Please bring small bills - it's often hard to make change.
Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.
Water, Lunch or a snack
Camera

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Beaver Pond Trailhead is north of the campground turnoff, on your right.

Carpool Cost: The event coordinator(s) will help you to arrange a centralized carpool if you require it, but it's not guaranteed. Please DO NOT pay your driver en route. Passengers will pay the coordinator, and he/she will distribute the money to the carpool drivers. SO PLEASE BRING CASH!!! Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $29.00 (calculated at total Km * $0.29, effective Thursday, November 21, 2024). This is based on $0.09/Km for maintenance, plus current gas price divided by 9. This cost will be multiplied by the number of carpooled cars, and divided by the number of carpool participants.

Notes:
If you're riding in the carpool with someone who has a group pass, you will be expected to chip in $5.00 towards their pass costs. After all, they're paying your way into the park!
If no one has a pass, park admission is $7.80 per person or $19.60 for a vehicle pass good for up to 7 people.
