Fri, Sep 8 2006 - The Lacombe Corn Maze (View Original Event Details)
|
Wow - who knew that walking through 15 acres of corn could be so much fun! Although not the closest corn maze to Edmonton, the trip to Lacombe made for a lovely evening drive, and was a chance for everyone to catch up and compare stories about other EOC events.
Once at the corn maze, which this year was planted in the shape of a scarecrow, we divided into teams of three and hit the field.
Julie, Catherine and Tim tested their Old Testament knowledge by navigating around the maze guided by bible themed trivia questions. Even though they didn't know that Harim had one thousand and seventeen children they still pulled ahead for a speedy first place finish.
Much to the amusement of the others, Justin, Jason and Kathryn's pop culture themed questions had them singing Jingle Bells and doing the bunny hop to find the exit, while Karen led Shirley and Kristin on an illuminated journey through the corn with her trusty hand crank flashlight.
Finishing up just after sun down, the group wrapped up this fun event with a stop in Lacombe for ice cream and then headed back home feeling like the weekend was off to a great start.
