No one ever told me that old school roller skating was so scary... and dangerous!! AND FUN!!!!! Admittedly SportsWorld is one of the more sketchy venues that we've attended as a group - but it is truly a diamond in the rough.
Your coordinator was extremely glad to find out that she wasn't the only one dressed in retro gear - that could have been a disaster! So a big shout out goes out to the others brave enough to drive through Edmonton in various states of retrocity. (and polite hissing and booing to those of you who didn't dress up)
While we were a little shakey at first we quickly gained a litle confidence. The tunes were bopping and the skating was smooth. Some of us even got cocky enough to try rockin it like some of the older pros - to mostly favourable results. Overall, I think quite a few of us discovered a new hobby!
Thanks to everyone for coming out! I enjoyed everyone's company! I hope we do this again soon!
