Wed, Nov 4 2020 - Advanced Fast Pace Hills Hike: New Route Westpointe Ravine to Wedgewood Beach (View Original Event Details)

Long, but great fast pace hike! We started by going down the single track trails at Westpointe Ravine, and then along the river to the Henday Bridge. We crossed river and went up to "Bottle Rocket" single track trails for a good loop of the up and down mountain biking course. We then crossed through the Cameron Heights Community to Wedgewood Ravine and found a gnarly single track trail system that led us along the creek to a river beach just across from Terwillegar Park. We then scrambled up the steep trail to see amazing river valley vista views with Downtown in the distance, before climbing back up to Cameron Heights where we then back tracked to our starting point. A total of 15.5 km with 290 meters of elevation gain, and a speed of 5.9 km/hr. A great extended version night hike with amazing Fall weather!
