Sat, Sep 13 2008 - Day Hike - Cooking Lake Blackfoot Provincial Park (View Original Event Details)
|
We had a very enjoyable hike - great people & weather today!
We headed out along the Lost Lake trail then turned off on Meadow Way, had some lunch, then headed along Don's Way. We did end up taking a wrong turn and ended up going along an unofficial trail bypassing the last lake but we made it back to the parking lot - it still turned out to be a good hike.
We went approximately 13.5-14km & took 3.5 hours including time for our lunch.
Just on a side note for any future outings out of the city, the scat that we saw was actually bear scat - I looked it up on the internet and spoke to Mom about it (she's very knowledgeable about the different scats). When it's that dark, unformed, and has berries in it, that's bear. No other animals eat berries. At least we were a large, noisy group!
Hope to see you again on my next upcoming events.
