Wed, Jan 21 2015 - Whitemud Ravine/Snow Valley Hiking (View Original Event Details)
|
After the slip and slide show at the start of the hike, those with out traction aid devices for their shoes quickly turned around. Enabled by various ice trekker traction aids the seven remaining hikers continued on at a surprisingly quick pace. We hiked South up the Whitemud Nature Reserve forest and creek bridges to Olgilvie Ridge. We then continued East along the cleared trails to Westridge Estates where we saw some unique architecture. We found the connector to the Whitemud Nature Reserve (below the mansion that looks like a castle), and hiked back through the forest trails to the upper parking lot on Rainbow Valley Road. It turned out to be a great weather evening of urban hiking. It was Great to see everyone there!
