Fri, Aug 31 2007 - Hiking Weekend in Jasper National Park - Mt. Edith Cavell area (View Original Event Details)
|
Another great weekend away in the Rockies! After getting there really late Friday morning (it took 40-60 minutes for the groups to get their burgers at Wendy's... talk about a labour shortage!) we all manage to meet Saturday morning to make some plans The group split up into 3, one going to Wilcox pass, one going canoing and one staying at the hostel to recuperate from a soldiers of fitness class. Sunday saw 4 of the braver members do a scramble (sicmoy? or something), another group visiting the nearby angel glacier, and a third group heading into Jasper for a short hike and some reading. Monday most of the group visited the angel glacier and then headed home, stopping in Hinton for some L&W. I know Im supposed to write the "saying of the weekend" but I forgot it, so we'll just have to make an inside joke of it on our next trip. Thanks to all who came out, it was a great weekend, a pleasure to meet you all (even if I ran off to bed early... ask my friends, its normal) and I hope to see you on more EOC events! Cheers! Steph
