Fri, Nov 25 2011 - Gold Bar Park and Goldstick Park evening hike (View Original Event Details)
|
11 humans and one dog enjoyed an evening hike, and the conditions weren't too bad, despite strong winds being forecast earlier.
It was decided not to walk on the originally-planned trails, in case we disrupted any cross-country skiers that may have been out.
Instead we headed west as far as the Kinnaird Ravine, which is a good steady climb.
On the way back we also did a detour through the residential area of Capilano due to an earlier-spotted trail closure.
One interesting fact was that we did not see a single other person on the trails all night. Overall, it was a bit longer than originally planned, but I think everyone enjoyed it!
A few of us finished off at Boston Pizza for well-earned drinks/snacks.
Thanks everyone for being a nice group, and being patient with the route changes along the way!
