A small but festive bunch went down to Lake Louise for a great weekend of skiing on the Family Day long weekend.
We enjoyed to full days of skiing at the Lake Louise Ski Resort. The first was a little icy but good coverage on the mountain and a good warm up day. On Sunday we were treated with fresh powder from snow the night before. The early birds all hit the slopes and were treated to fresh tracks in deep powder before the crowds arrived.
Thankfully no new injuries, although one attendee was still nursing a sore hand from the last ski trip to Jasper. Ryan did get eaten by a tree but thankfully escaped with only a ripped jacket.
Each day ended with beer and nachos at the popular Bill Peyto's cafe followed by a great and filling potluck dinner each night at the HI - Lake Louise Alpine Centre. On Saturday everyone was commenting on Ryan's roast that he left to slow cook all afternoon in the kitchen and on Sunday Brad showed off his pie making skills.
A slow start on Monday morning to breakfast before heading home to Edmonton. Thanks to all that attended, it was a great weekend. Hopefully we will see you out for some spring skiing in April.
