Fri, Nov 3 2006 - Beginners' Curling Evening (View Original Event Details)
|
Curling proved to be more of a challenge than we all thought, but we persevered and had a great time. After duct-taping our shoes for makeshift sliders, we began with a basic lesson on how to slide, throw the rocks, and sweep. Depsite some falls, we got the hang of that, but were we a little confused about the actual rules and strategy when we tried to play a game. We provided great entertainment for the league players waiting to get on the ice, though. It was great fun, and the yellow team came out on top! Afterward, we retreated to the lounge to relax with a beer and watch the experts play. Hopefully we'll have a round two in the future!
