What a fantastic weekend! The EOC’s first downhill ski weekend provided glorious weather, excellent skiing/boarding, great accommodation & food (I am a little biased!) and of course a fabulous group of people.
2 full days of skiing/boarding was enjoyed by most, beginners and experts alike, with the only injury (aside from broken pride) being Craig (aka Brian) of the COC, who managed to take home a swollen/broken hand. (This was though, self-inflicted from his need to rock climb to the highest point of the mountain!)
The preferred beverage of the weekend was of course The Bloody Apple – i.e. Bourbon & Apple Juice (the current favoured drink in the UK).
We successfully managed to keep the hotel bartender on the go all Friday night, made light work of the all-you-can-eat buffet at the Caledonia Grill (thanks Ryan!) on Saturday and put in a respectable appearance at the ‘Atha B’ for dancing afterwards.
All in all a fantastic weekend, big thanks to the Calgary Outdoor Club for joining us; it was great to meet with such a fun bunch of people.
Until next year ….
Karen
