Itinerary:

MEETING PLACE: We will meet in Wolf Willow Ridge at the designated Fort Edmonton Footbridge-parallel- parking-section located on Wanyandi Way, west of its intersection with Wize Court. Below you will find the directions to the location. Also follow the google map link to the Meeting Location.

DIRECTIONS:

  • Whitemud Drive to 170 ST South
  • turn left onto Wolf Willow Road,
  • turn right onto Wanyandi Road
  • look for a small blue sign labelled Fort Edmonton Foot Bridge on Wanyandi Road at its intersection with Wanyandi Way
  • turn left onto Wanyandi Way.
  • Follow Wanyandi Way a short distance along, and you will see permitted/signed curbside parking for Fort Edmonton Footbridge on the right (south) side of Wanyandi Way, west of its intersection with Wize Court.
  • Park on the south side as described above, and we will meet by the Wize Court intersection.
  • WHO SHOULD ATTEND: This run is intended for beginner to intermediate runners that wish to challenge themselves with more distance. If you have been a regular hiker this season and have been able to complete the 16km distance with ease then this event is for you.

THE PLAN:The goal will be to run the entire 16km at a slow enough pace that everyone can carry a conversation. Breaks will be planned at the Terwillegar bridge and Anthony Henday bridge. The event should start once everyone arrives or at 10:10am, which ever comes first.

EXPECTATIONS: Expect to find mostly paved terrain. There is a single track dirt section that we'll take to give you a taste of trail running. Please keep your dogs on leash in all areas except Terwillegar.
