Itinerary:
The Science in the Cinema film series is organized by the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Alberta. All of the film screenings in the series are free of charge to attend (they also provide free popcorn).

The February screening for the film series is the 2010 film How to Train Your Dragon. This is the annual kid-friendly film in the Science in the Cinema film series, so expect the theatre to be rather packed, and it is therefore important that everyone arrives early to get a seat in the theatre. A synopsis of the film is below:

Hiccup is a Viking who wants to be a dragon killer like his father, who refuses to let him train. One night during a dragon invasion Hiccup downs a Night Fury to prove to his father he is worthy, but can't bring himself to kill it. Instead, Hiccup and the dragon, whom he dubs Toothless, begin a friendship that opens up both their worlds. But even as the two each take flight in their own way, they find that they must fight the destructive ignorance plaguing their world and convince the other Vikings that dragons are not bad.

Please meet me inside the Garneau Theatre by 12:40 PM at the latest, outside the doors to the main auditorium. Please arrive promptly - the theatre is likely to be packed, so we'll have to enter early to make sure that we can find seats together. If you arrive late please find your own seat inside the auditorium.

The film is listed as 98 minutes in length and will likely end between 2:30-3:00.
